Challenge #33 Draw an eye

I'm not so happy with this one. I think I like
the drawing okay, but the lettering is ba-ad!
Ah well...I'll do better next time.
The lyrics are from "Dark Eyes"

I love it, especially the eyes and their reflections....

I think the drawing is great - beautiful, haunting eyes, and the colors are perfect. I also like the lettering, maybe you'll do better next time, but I think you did well this time too.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you mean by the lettering - anything that is so "of the hand" adds appeal to your beautiful rendering.

Thank you all so much. Dan and Gary, I appreciate the comments about the lettering, too. I hesitated when I posted it because of it. Then I figured "warts and all", you know! I will keep practicing!

Those eyes draw me in and take my imagination to 'what is she looking at?'...love it. And the lettering looks blown by the wind and etched in the sand...perfect.

Beautifully done! The eyes are so deep, and with so much intention(at least that's what I think).
But there's another thing people probably miss out a lot, the background, because I think you did a really good job in that!
I totally think that you should be happy because it's a very nice drawing ^^
Oh yeah, thanks for commenting on my sketches too. Appreciate it!! :)

What a cool idea! I have always thought of artistically responding to/interpret my favorite lyrics (there are so many, right?). I just didn't know where to go with it, but you have linked it to 'the challenge' and ALL these are so beautifully done! This one has it, with the eyes! The lettering is awesome, also. I heard on the news the other day that Dylan was thinking about doing 'voices' for GPS, in your automobile, now wouldn't that be the greatest??! I am going to subscribe here so I can see more of your interesting works! Nice to meet you, Ellen!

Thank you Pattie! And you're right about lyrics. There are thousands to draw inspiration from. And usually they're completely without any visual input so it's only our imagination to decide what to draw. Fun!
