I just am squeaking by on this one.
Not whole deck of cards, but just a drawing of two cards.
.
The lyrics are from "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts".
I decided to begin drawing again, following a list of challenges on a Yahoo group called "Everyday Matters". I wanted tight restrictions on myself, to stay focused I guess, so I decided to draw only things on that list that I could connect to a Bob Dylan lyric. So the only text that I'll include on my drawings will be lyrics. And I'll list the song the lyric is from. So here we go...

More terrific work. The skin tones are soooooo good. And I continue to be amazed by your marriage of Dylan's lyrics and EDM challenges. Way to go!
Drawings or photographs? WOW! So life-like! I can feel their emotions in their eyes! Just amazing. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Great interpretation. Awesome job on the faces.
I love this - a great painting and absolutely perfect for the lyrics you chose.
You continue to amaze me! Wonderful interpretation!
Great interpretation of the challenge. Love the layering and the colors. Great work.
Wonderful! Love your colors and texture! Great job! :)
Donna, Jolene, Patty, Marancat, Raena, Revell, Ramona and Dragana...thank you all so very much for your kind and generous comments! All of them (and you!) mean so much to me. I am so grateful.
Nice, very nice. I really like your patterns in the background and on the hoodie. Creative and interesting!
This is great! I love the profiles, and the patterns...
I love the transition from the card face to real people...gives me thoughts and a variety of interpretations. I think I would need to hear the song to think about it...Nice colors!
Pattie, for the most part these aren't illustration of the songs. They're just an EDM drawing I could link to an BD lyric. Might be fun one day to really illustrate the songs, but for now that's not what I'm doing. Does this make any sense? But I love that you have thoughts about it!
Brilliant!
Thank you, Ann!
This image fascinates me. The tri-profiles, one stylized card guy and two beautifully rendered women. This seems to be ripe with meaning - so the success of this piece is that the viewer (me) will think about this well beyond. Like everyone else I love the connection with Dylan lyrics, but what is rocking my world is your sense of design, your use of patterns and the deft arrangement of color in the composition.
Gary, you are so kind. I'll bet you are a wonderful teacher, with such descriptive comments. It really does help me analyze my own work (and others' when I read what you say about their work) and see what I've done, sometimes just instinctively and sometimes with a plan.
Oops, Gary...I left off the "Thank you" from that message! Thank you!
Super! You are so creative especially as you are using lyrics to design by!
Great work here. I like the way you incorporate the song lyrics.
Thank you freebird and Deborah!
Very creative interpretation! Beautifully done too.
Thanks so very much Krista!
