EDM Challenge #79 ~~ Draw an ear

.
A song I'll bet most folks know. And surely the first one I ever heard that was written by Bob Dylan.
.
The lyrics are from "Blowin' in the Wind"

So beautifully done. I especially admire the cloth, and the pattern in the background. The expression is particularly poignant. It is a great illustration of the lyric.

Ok. Here's the shocker: I had no idea Dylan wrote this song. I thought it would have been Pete Seeger or someone like that. And it was Peter, Paul and Mary's hit, right?

I like the words you chose to go with this. Great work!

Thanks Dan and Cathy!

Dan, I'm not really that surprised that you didn't know he wrote it. Bob was active in the folk singing craze of the early sixties and Seeger was certainly someone a person would think of as part of that time. I have always been interested in the writers of songs I hear so I did know early on who wrote it. Didn't know anything about him at that time, but I knew his name.

This is beautiful, Ellen! I always love coming to see your work and which songs you're illustrating...or maybe which songs you're using to enhance your sketches! :o)

The details, the textures, the composition, the colors... everything is so well done and works wonderfully together. Great calligraphy, too! It would be awesome in large size, too, hanging on a wall!

Such a strong composition. Well done.

One of my all-time favorite songs and one I used to make a movie for an english class back in high school
(1970). My partner and I filmed many things to go with the song and ended up filming protestors at SDSU but missed the football player who stood guard at the flag pole and who ended up on the nightly news. I guess we missed the great shot of our lives but had some fun figuring out how to make a movie from the song.

Very nice job on your picture. I wonder if people are listening better today or not?
